Local-first build and deploy

Ant builds your project into a container image and runs it on your machine, with Docker and an optional managed Caddy for local domains. Remote machines stay opt-in: register a server, and deploys travel over an encrypted channel with no inbound ports.

$ curl -fsSL https://ants-docs.pages.dev/dl/install.sh | sh

macOS, Linux, and Windows (WSL). The installation guide covers the release install, a source build, and prerequisites.

Build

Ant reads your project and produces an image: a Dockerfile, nixpacks, buildpacks, railpack, or a prebuilt image. Compose projects build with docker compose.

$ ant haul

Collaborate

One portable identity, per-machine rosters — viewer, deployer, admin, owner — signed single-use invites, and groups that divide a codebase into team-owned pieces.

$ ant colony invite --role deployer --machine prod

Deploy

Run it locally behind Caddy, or ship the image to a registered machine over an encrypted channel. No inbound ports.

$ ant trail deploy prod
